The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) provides Ukrainian agricultural enterprises with 12,000 tonnes of fertilizers for autumn sowing campaign.
As a Ukrinform correspondent reports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea provided aid in the form of fertilizers worth $5 million.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has sent 12,000 tonnes of fertiliser to Ukrainian farmers to help them with the autumn sowing campaign.
Assistance in the form of fertilisers worth $5 million was provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
As noted, mineral fertilizers will be provided to 12,000 micro, small and medium-sized agricultural producers through the USAID Agricultural and Rural Development (AGRO) programme.
Each participant in the programme will be able to receive 1 tonne of nitroammophoska for basic and pre-sowing application through the State Agrarian Register (SAR).
“The war that Russia has declared on agriculture affects all aspects of the industry, including fertilizers. In 2023, we witnessed a 60% decrease in fertiliser use due to lack of funding and access. That’s why today’s event, in partnership with the Republic of Korea and Ukraine, is an important step in addressing this problem,” said Bridget Brink, United States Ambassador to Ukraine.
Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solskyi thanked the US and Korean sides for their coordination and assistance.
